    Hi Guys,

I have an M17x laptop equipped with a single video card - an NVIDIA 260m with 1gb. It's like this since 2009 and I'm looking to upgrade the performance.
As far as I know I can add a video card to the one I have and I'd really appreciate some recomendations on compatible video cards, and if that's really possible to add a diffrent video card to my alien.
BTW, I'd prefer spending under 250$ on the card...

    Thank you all!!!

you can add a 260m and im pretty sure theyre cheap as theyre fairly old. I think i saw one in the NBR marketplace for like $100.

Or you could try to get 2x280m's. I think you would need like a heatsink and everything for one of them since you only have one 260m. As well as a crossfire/sli cable

    It's a M17x.
    The M17x R2 didn't come with 260M.

Dekel, unfortunately you won't be able to pair that 260M with nothing but another 260M with its own fan, heatsink and the SLi cable to link them together.

You can replace it though with these configurations:
    - one or two nVIDIA GTX 280M
    - one or two AMD mobility 5870

Do a search on the forum, this subject has been debated more than a couple of times:
