I have the default 460m video card. I bought a 780m card on eBay which I am waiting on. I was checking out upgrade options when I read somewhere in the forms that u can replace the motherboard with a R4.

Is the R4 the only motherboard that can fit in the R3 case?

    What about a R5?

Are there any issues with upgrading the motherboard?

I read I can change the service tag in the bios. Has anyone have any experience with that? Anything I should be aware if?

    Thanks in advance.

The service tag can only be changed if you're in manufacturing mode. There may be some tools to get to that online, none of them supported by us.

The motherboards are different and you may need to do some modding to the chassis. The Aw17 R1 motherboard may not even fit in there.

I though I read somewhere that when upgrading the motherboard, you could upgrade the service tag. If not, it should not be a big deal.

I am looking to upgrade the motherboard to a R4 or R5(if the case can support it). I do not wish to modify the case.

    Thanks.
