When undoing the clips for the keyboard while swapping the RAM, The little black clip that is on the smaller of the two ribbons came off. The mobo connection and the connection to the keyboard itself are fine. My question is how to I reconnect that little black piece to the ribbon?

I'm pretty sure I can just hold the ribbon in place and slide the connector into the mobo slot and it should be good to go. nothing is broken I just don't know an easy way to re seat the connection for the smaller ribbon

not sure what your asking, but you should be able to slide it in and lock it to the connector.

Oh, I see what you're talking about now. Just put the retainer (black thing) back into the ribbon connector, and then install the ribbon. It just popped out I'm guessing. That has happened to me, but I lost the retainer and never found it again. Don't work on your laptop near shag carpet! :D I had to order a new media bar from Alienware.
