Hi guys, actually I use my Aw17 with lid closed and an external monitor. The ventilation is the same as the lid open? The laptop life expectation is the same?

It will draw some air from the keyboard area, my advice is leave the screen just slightly open.

I leave mine like that 24/7. With the panel powered down it does not draw as much power. I prop the rear if I'm gaming but in normal use the fans are not audible.

The keyboard lets some fresh air come through. We recommend you to use the laptop lid slightly open as Meaker says, however closing it completely will not cause it to overheat if that's your concern.

I run mine with the lid closed at my desk for most of the day, and when gaming the temps are the same as they were with the lid open. Just my experience, I have it sitting on a homemade platform that elevates the back and allows airflow underneath and behind the machine though.

It's going to heat that side of the motherboard a bit, it just seems like you don't need to totally close the lid as you are not going to put anything on top of it anyway.

I have never had mine overheat but if I close the lid with a game running I find the keyboard gets quite hot. It does not cause any issues and it cools off pretty quickly after I open the lid again but the heat does build up so as others have suggested I would leave it open slightly.
