    Hi!

I have an M17x that is just over 2 years old. It is starting to have trouble running the latest and greatest games on high/medium. The screen, however, is the best I've ever had. The colours are sharp and vibrant, and the resolution is high. I love being able to sit on the couch and easily stow the laptop away when I'm done instead of being tied to a desk.

It's no secret that Alienware laptops are expensive. I can get a lot more power out of my money from building my own desktop station, but then I won't have the benefits of a laptop.

Is it possible to use the screen and keyboard from the M17x, and get the rest of the power from a home-built desktop? I am comfortable with replacing parts, and have disassembled most of the laptop several times.

    Thanks in advance!

U can use the screen if it has HDMI IN, but not the keyboard, unless u Remote Desktop to your PC.

But u can get a wireless keyboard and mouse, connect them to the PC, and use the laptop screen.

There's no HDMI in for the R2, unless you happen to find a way to make a custom LVDS cable from DVI/VGA/HDMI. And even then, DVI and VGA are being phased out soon.
