    Hey all,

I've run through two headsets that I've owned until now, the Logitech G35's (which were good) and the Turtle Beach PX21's (which were stunning). My G35's had one of the ears snap off (wire is still intact, taping was no use in securing the ear) and the PX21 has some sort of wire issue in the remote and the left ear has stopped working. I'm currently eyeing the Razer Tiamat seeing as how I've become a bit of an audiophile (I use Diddybeats for my iPhone) and I'm wondering if/how the Tiamat will be able to connect fully. I see that it requires 5x3.5MM jacks, and I'm guessing that that won't work with the laptop. Is there some sort of external audio card solution or something I can do?

    Thanks in advance! ^^

That slot, the larger one above the DVD drive slot...I can't remember what the dang slot is called! Anyhow, I believe you can get sound cards that fit it. That may help you out.

But I don't have a good recommandation of a portable sound card :/

You might want to ask in the accessories section of NBR ;)

No, I haven't experimented with it. Maybe try Newegg or Ebay.

I would suggest the Fiio E7 as an alternative usb dac/amp.
You can use it as a DAC with your laptop plus as an amp with iphone/ipod etc..

Then there is nu-force udac 2
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/accessories/523590-nuforce-udac-2-review.html

    Or ibasso D-zero
Fiio E7, Meet Your Rival: The Ibasso D-Zero | Headfonia

And finally the one I am going to buy when it launches in Feb

The e17 will have HD audio - USB 24BIT/96K

I was looking to get a good headset too for myself..
This is the setup I decided.. Take a look
    Sennheiser HD 598/ HD650
Amazon.com: Sennheiser HD 598 Audiophile Headphones with High-Gloss Burl Wood Accents: Electronics
    Fiio E17
Zalman Nc-1 Microphone.. This will be a great setup for both gaming and music.
