What seems to be the problem? What do you get when you connect them?
Did you select the correct input on your external monitor?

I have tried all imput channels on it, but I can't figure out how to mke it work. I want to use my large screen instead of this monitor. I plug the HDMI or VGA cable in correctly and go to the NVIDIA control panel but nothing works.

No, the M17x R1 only has HDMI out port on the left side; I saw a R3 and the guy had the extra HDMI in port that he was using for playing his PS3 on his laptop screen. It is the only port and the correct one, I just can't figure out how come it won't connect. I have a new TV now, so I need to try it again; but I don't expect much.
