Last Sat, I could not boot up my system(black screen) after I re-pasted the Thermal compound...And then I contacted Dell..
I got replaced GPU and motherboard on this Tuesday..Same situation
Another motherboard replaced on this Wednesday......Same situation
Another motherboard and one memory replaced today..Same situation..

It can boot with only one memory installed in the slot close to CPU..But if put both..it cant boot..and if put the memory in the second slot..still cant boot..it seems like the problem of memory slot..But I changed 3 motherboard already..what the problem next?..

I was thinking about the problem of CPU..My CPU is i7 920XM(ES)..
But it works perfect before the problem happened and it can be booted with one memory..is it still the problem with the CPU?..

In addition..I also reinstall the BIOS..(A10 now..I tried older version as well)

Anyone can help me to figure it out please..
really annoying...what other problem it might be????

    PLEASE HELP...........

    Hello,

Maybe a silly question but have you tried different known working memory in both slots?

I think both of my memory are working fine..
And Dell also bring a new memory to replace one of them..
But the problem is still there..

Did a Dell engineer replace the M/B each time?

If so I would go back to Dell and demand a replacement machine.

    Thanks

Yah..they did replace the motherboard each time when you came..
How can I apply the replacement in this case?..
Now..they said its the problem of my CPU...
    Is it possible ?..
I think my CPU works fine..is there any ways to check it?

I would probably let them replace the CPU (I have never heard of a CPU causing this sort of problem but you never know). If this doesn’t work the laptop is not fit for purpose and ask for your money back or an equivalent or better replacement.

Have you still your original CPU? since you are using a 920ES i take that you have swapped a lesser cpu. If i were you i'll give it a shot. I7 has the memory controller integrated in the cpu. If changing 3 MoBo doesn't fix the issue it may well be a defective CPU.

    Very good point!

Thinking about it the i7 has got an integrated memory controller.

As you are still under warranty I would let Dell do the work though.

unfortunately..I have already sold my previous CPU..
If there any ways to check the memory control in i7?.
and I only heart there is memory control in AMD CPU..not in intel..(Maybe I am wrong)..
