    Hi folks..

So.....I was sat here earlier, just doing a bit of web browsing, nothing major....bit of NBR and emails and the weirdest thin happened.

I closed the lid to put the lappy to sleep - when I returned to it about 30mins after, I opened the lid....the lappy came to life as usual...displayed the web pages I was last viewing but THEN....without any notice...screen went black and it shut it self down and restarted!!!! - I hadnt even got chance to press a button or anything!

It restarted fine, no "unexpected shutdown" mesages, just like I had booted it up normally....

Restored browsing session and everything working as usual....

God knows why it decided to restart itself....im clueless as to why this happened and wondered if anyone else had a similar experience or could shed some light on it for me....

    Very confused LOL

Nope - have tried repeating....its not like i did anything really, just closed the lid to sleep, opened it up again and before i had a chance to do anything....bam.....it restarted for some odd reason....

Have successfully resumed from sleep again several times....(and its not a vbios/driver issue as both are fine...10.11 and vbios)

Got me stumped as i couldnt see any reason behind it

reason i asked is that it happened to me once before and did not manage to replicate it again :)

Gotcha.....first time its happened to me, dont want it to start being a trend tho!....just thought someone would maybe know why or what could have caused it.....

Everything seems to be working normally, just bugged the heck outta me....

Checked event viewer and the only critical event at that time was Kernel power 41...

When i looked further down, all the bccodes were zero but something about "sleep in progress - false"

it's very highly likely due to catalyst 10.11. i've reported this before but didnt get any positive response from other members. i have the same issue with 10.11, totally random BSOD after waking up from sleep. could happen instantly, or after a few minutes or 15min or so.

This wasnt even a Blue Screen....well in the exact sense of blue screen anyway...about 5 seconds after re-opening the lid, it just restarted. No "blue" screen , no warning, nothing...just BAM...hasnt happened since but i am sleep/resuming regularly to check for any consistent issues.....remember you saying that you had an issue with sleep resume on another thread...

I too thought most likelt attributable to my new 10.11 drivers...guess it may have to be wait for 10.12 to see if it persists (it may not even happen again)

yeap, not always you will see the bluescreen, it just happened randomly. sometimes while i'm browsing, and bang! same thing like how u described happened. im pretty sure it's caused by 10.11.
