    Hey all,

I would love some help since I am just beyond frustrated with my m17x at this point and not sure what else to do.

I have had my computer for almost a year, but about 4-5 months ago I upgraded my video drivers (dont know the patch at this point) and started getting video driver crashes. This sometimes results in a full hard lock or blue screen of death. They occur at three points that I can tell:

    1) streaming video on the web
    2) playing games such as WoW or Mass Effect 2
    3) opening video files through windows media player

At this point I feel like I have tried every driver out there including the 260.99 latest ones and still have the same problem. I am running 2x 280m nvidia cards and play with my m17x hooked up to an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Any advice?

Try changing the power management mode to 'Prefer Maximum Performance' in NVIDIA Control Panel.
    That worked for me.

I got this proplem for a long time ! and keep coming back here to check on it... if there're any solutions !
then later i fixed it by install the Beta NV driver for notebook from DELL
    it worked js fine !
but still i want the latest driver with latest SLI-Profiles.

actually there are a few more way to fix it !
you can switch to your on board card GT9400 this is a temporary fix...
For youtube and webs ! disable hardware accelerator of FlashPlayer

_ANd this is the permanent FIX_
Right now, i switched back to the 260.99 latest driver !
and its a miracle it never crashed again ! working perfect no more blinking gray screen or freeze when surfing web or when watching movie with enable hardware accelerator ... or any sort of crash...

What did i do ? ... this was done by many trials ! i failed at 260.99 many times before but somehow this time it worked.

1> installed the NV beta driver for notebook.. latest NVIDIA chipset + physx + Driver Sweep.

2> Restarted in SAFE MODE . Uninstall the Nvidia drivers in control panel.

2> then delete everything related to nvidia by DriverSweep
(not sure here, may be try sweep only the Nvidia-display leave the other chipset and physx alone, if its not working! try again, tick all 3 nvidia options)

3> Reset in SAFE MODE. check DriverSweep if there are anythings left... Delete it all again !
4> Reset in SAFE MODE. checked ! no more remnant of those nvida files
5> Now Install the new driver 260.99 ! do not install 3d vision (for m17x-R1 user)

My computer working perfect with this driver !
    with Windows7 WEI of :
    7,3 7,3 7,3 7,3 5,9

p.s : Make sure you have the latest Bios, and running Windows7-x64
