    Video card dying? HELP D:

    :( it's christmas... All of the sudden without any cause my Laptop crashed to a blue screen. It displayed fat blue horizontal lines with black thin borders to seperate them.
    I had to force restart with the power button and it doesn't give an image after the windows loading logo, just black now. I can get a screen in safe mode however.


    edit: after re-installation of the 6990M drivers in safe mode I get a white screen instead of a black screen.

    edit2: I put it on PEG in the bios it gave 8 beeps. Pretty sure that means the gpu is dead right?

    Pretty much yes unfortunately. It seems like your Christmas gift this year would have to be a video card. Sorry about that Mkkillah

    Damn... Well luckily I had saved up for a 2960XM so I have the money for a new card. Could a bad connection also cause the same issues?

    Ha, this is a first for me. I've heard of people doing this, but never believed it actually worked. The question is: For how long? I doubt you can just keep tossing it in the oven, lol. :D Good luck, though.
