I don't see why it shouldn't be a good choice.
You might want to go for a 750Gb or 1Tb HDD if you have a lot of data you want to keep on your laptop.

It depends on the HDD's age and condition. I don't see why a new HDD will have those troubles unless it's malfunctioned. Scorpion Black is known as a pretty reliable HDD. If you buy it and don't like it, I'm pretty sure you can always return.

thank you let's hope that new hard drive won't have that issues. Because im sure it's hard drive faulty, if this is a system problem it would freeze even on ssd so :)

This is what I use for storage: wd7500bpkt. Its a 750GB Scorpio Black. I save and playback all my blu-ray movie from it (them) and I have never had any issues with stuttering or stuff. One thing to remember is your SSD is gonna be WAY faster than any hard drive you buy. And when buying a new hard drive, you can ignore when they claim either SATA II or SATA III. NO currently available HDD on the market will ever reach SATA II speeds on its own.

i can agree with you. maybe i wouldn't even change hard drive if i don't have freezes in games which remains for 1 seconds and again and again for minute or two its soo annoying sometimes it can even freeze whole system lol

I have the same hard drive. Works well. Play the mass majority of my games from it except for Diablo 3 (due to the way it accesses data). Works just fine and no studdering on it.

Try to get your Samsung checked for errors, it probably developed bad sectors.

Now now, be nice to Samsung. Just because one of their hard drives is " UseYourImagination.jpg " doesn't mean all their products are. Their 830 SSD series are pretty fly.

I have the black scorpio and it's been great, but mine is the 750gb. For the little extra money I'd consider going the the 750.

Just what i thought. Start backing up your important data!

What is the value of the Reallocated Sector Count? You should watch that value. If it increases, then it's time to replace your HDD as well.

You'll get the chance to configure your partitions in the Windows installation process (i.e. assign 160Gb for Windows & programs and the rest for data).
