Because Intel WiDi needs an Intel Wireless card. Your wireless card is made by Broadcom.

To have WiDi you need an Intel video Card and Intel Wireless card.

Seller is misinformed. Probably got it mixed up with Intel Graphics.

You need all of them: i7 + Intel Wifi + Intel Graphics + Windows OS.

You have a Broadcom wireless card it is not supported will not be supported and cannot be supported. You will need an INTEL BRANDED wireless card to use that feature.

    Holy thread resurrection, Batman.......

I've read through this after picking up a Broadcom 4352 card (just for kicks, really as it was dirt cheap) with the expectation that it would allow me to use WiDI, too.......cannot get it working though, even though I have a supported CPU, HD4600 iGFX and according to Intel, a supported WiFi Card as well (see below link)

Support Knowledge Base - System requirements for Intel® WiDi

Has anyone been able to get WiDi working with a 4352? - it's grating on me that I supposedly have all the prerequisites, including Windows OS, but the darn thing will just not have it......

    Any input appreciated. Thanks fella's....

Haha, yeah - I know that as I can't get it working, but if everything is supported as per Intel's own requirements, why the hell doesn't it work !! LOL

Well, just an update. I managed to get WiDi working with my Broadcom 4352 that I bought for that very purpose. Couldn't get it working with Windows 7. I've recently done a clean install of Windows 8.1 (8.1 update once installed) along with Dell Broadcom drivers. Works fine. Swipe in from the right > devices > project > add a wireless display. Bingo. WiDi working.

So much for having to have an INTEL card.....the 4352 is on the list of WiDi supported cards, maybe it was just crappy driver issues etc. The WiDi update tool would not acknowledge while I was on Win 7. WiDi is built into 8.1, so maybe there is something there that helped. Who knows. All I know is that it is working.

See spoiler below and Device Manager shot. I have a D-link MainStage for WiDi which is shown as available to connect to in the spoiler picture.
