I'm aware quite a few issues have been discussed about the M17x wireless but i haven't been able to find anything that relates to this,

My wireless occasionally (roughly once every 2 days or so) drops, as in, just disconnects from the AP and is unable to reconnect or find any access points until i mash the wireless off/on.

Also, When playing online i'll find my ping increasing substantially randomly, I'm 99% sure this problem is not down to my router or internet as with CAT5 this problem is non existant.

Just wondered if anyone else found anything similar? and/or has anyone found a substantial improvement by moving to an Intel wireless card?

    Thanks for any help,

P.S - Sorry if i've missed any big topics and the wireless card is made by Broadcom (Cannot remember the model number)

hi bud couple of things to try

1 make sure power saving mode is off on the wireless card in control panel, system, device manager, network adapters, wirless, and power managment.

2 change channel you might be in highly populated wifi area so try changing channel.

may be no help but this is what i would try.

Done the powersaving fix as when i first got the laptop i'd find it wouldn't find any APs,
I don't believe it's a Dell wireless chip either (Broadcom 943xx something iirc), I had a look through that thread but couldn't find anything that would help.

I've tried several drivers, some actually seeming to alleviate the problem slightly (Although that may just be me hoping.)

I'm wondering if an Intel 5300 AGN would make a substantial difference, I'm assuming it would as it seems pretty recommended on the forum and i've never had any problems with any Intel based ones, Just looking for a third party perspective.
