So installed windows 8 today, all is fine apart from one thing, when I type using the laptops own keyboard, the touchpad does not detect anything for two seconds after I finish typing.

I have all the drivers installed from dell's website but still problem happens. Does any one know what is going on?

    Thanks Joe

You could perhaps try updating you're Touchpad driver to the latest one from Synaptics?

When I update it errors from their website. Uninstalling stops the problem but no longer have the drivers to have scrolling and stuff. Least getting somewhere

You need to disable driver enforcement from the windows 8 settings app. The latest synaptics drivers were poorly written and do not comply with windows 8 driver signatures. It should install when you disable driver enforcement though.

When I thought I installed the drivers from dell 1st time around I guess windows beat me to it. Installed the Dell ones which work fine, just need to disable gesture settings as its unusable with them enabled.

Thanks for the help I guess anyway,
