So, when I purchased a few months ago, I got the dual 4870's and 620m processor. and Optd' to not get a SSD
I think the best bet would to get a SSD or a new processor? Both eventually, but which one first? Also. I'll be going by microcenter to buy. Any particular size of HD ? or.. is there a difference compared to laptop/desktop? lol.. sorry for the noobish questions. thanks.

i don't think there is any reason to upgrade the CPU unless your going to a 920xm. there isn't enough increase in performance over the 620 to justify the cost. as for the SSD i guess its the best bet, personally i wouldn't get anything to extravagant, as you wont realize the full performance of the SSD, but if depending on your budget, i would go with the intel or OCZ drives. there are some Intels in the market place, for a decent price, unless you hate money, then you can go to Microcenter.

Go with the largest SSD your budget can afford. Minimum of 128 Gb. Samsung is a nice balance between price and performance.

Agree with Falcon -
An SSD will give you a huge boost in performance.

Also, both the CPU and SSD are specialty items and Microcenter will have terrible inventory / pricing on them.
Save your gas money and travel time, do a few quick web searches to compare pricing, and then just order it online. You will more than likely save enough money to pay for overnight delivery if it is one of those "gotta have it now" things. -
What type of adapter does m17x r2 ssd use? Serial ata? What should I look for? I just wanna make sure I order the right type. Is it similar to desktop?

you need a 9.5 mm high 2.5 inch mobile ssd drive, and the sata interface is used these days

if you have any doubts just post the part number here and members can check it out

Mechanized Menace Lost in the MYST
SSD's use Sata 2 which is what is in the R2, but I would refrain from getting a SSD untill the issues with the slow 4K read/write times are fixed.
