Well, it was bound to happen in my tearing apart and putting back the M17x R1 to repair the stupid DVD-RW drive.... my keyboard lights no longer work. I've tried to make sure the ribbon cable is plugged in all the way, but all that has done is reduced me from having 2/3s lit, to 1/3 lit, to completely dark.

I think the ribbon cable may have kinked excessively after putting it together to repair the loose cable on the DVD drive; is there any chance Dell will repair/replace it or should I just play dumb and go "I don't know why the purty lights don't come on."?
