    Hello,

I saw a lot of tutorials here and on internet, but nothing could really help me. The problem is that I cannot see any error or something like that.

After rebooting computer and going to BIOS just to see the actual configurations, the notebook stopped working, NOTHING WAS CHANGED. The notebook starts and then stays in the Alienware logo. I already checked the drivers disc (HDD) and his configuration as primary and raid 0. I entered in diagnostic (F12) and no errors was found. I tried putting BIOS in default settings but nothing. I try to enter in windows settings pressing F8 but I guess that the OS is not even initializing, so not answer when I try that. In boot option (F12) I select the "Windows Boot Manager (Intel M17xR4_RAID0)" and the system goes just black, nothing happen and no Alienware logo in this case.

Right after I try to turn on, I payed attention in the Power Button (alien head) looking if the HD is working but the button doesn't even blink like the hd are not working.
I already tried to disconnect battery and from power source and push the power button during 30 seconds, and nothing happens.

Second day using the computer and I meet this problem completely weird. Basically no causes for this problem.

I hope someone can help me.

    Alienware m17x R4
    Windows 8 64 bits
    BIOS Version A09
    SSD as cache
HDD Raid 0 - I'm sure that the storage configurations for boot are right.

    Thank you,
    Hector Mendes.

    Are you using UEFI boot?

Well when I go to boot options it shows:
    UEFI BOOT:
    - Windows Boot Manager (Intel M17xR4_RAID0) - The screens goes black, nothings else happen
    - UEFI Onboard LAN IPv4
    OTHER OPTIONS
    Diagnostics (No errors found)
    Enter Setup (Goes to BIOS)

The configuration in the BIOS are:
    Boot list option: UEFI
Secure Boot: Enable (I already switched and nothing)
Windows 8 Fast Boot: Enable (I already switched and nothing)

Tips: These are the default configurations

I tried the "Legacy" option in the Boot list options and it says that "No boot device found".
I cannot understand how can I have this issue if I did absolutely NOTHING in the BIOS. Any idea?

Updating the bios or restoring to defaults does not mean it will be the right settings, my bios as default is set to hard drive mode RAID, even though I dont need raid. I don't get it, do you have a msata ssd I assume? or one SSD and one HDD?

if you only use one drive to boot (e.g. your main OS is installed on a single non raid hard drive) then yo should be using AHCI under hard drive settings. I assume your windows 8 came pre installed under UEFI.

If not then you have to disable fast boot and uefi and enable legacy, they dont work together from what ive seen.

I just said that was the defaults just in case to someone say: "you changed something" and not, is the same way that comes and the same way that was working.

I have Raid 0 + mSSD as cache so the configuration that is the bios is RAID for "SATA Operation". I tried the Legacy that disable the UEFI and the Fast Boot, and says: "No boot device found".
