Hello everyone!
Its been quite some time now that this issue is bugging me and today it seems that it came the time to fight. I am experiencing FPS drop in resource-demanding games with timing in 3 seconds (3 seconds the game runs smooth, 4th second - huge drop to 10-15 fps and so on)
I tried to nuke the drivers, currently I have AMD Catalyst 12.10 WHQL Mobility Win Vista | 7 | 8 64-bit .Net 4.0 istalled, but none of my installs ends "successfully". Each one of them always has some sort of error log comming alongside.
The temperature on both CPU and GPU seems to be fine... GPU never went above 80 degrees, the fps drops occured last during NFS MW 2012 play, whenever the sun comes in to play, the game lags like crazy and it is really impossible to play, no matter what the graphs settings are (minor help, still lags).
I got no idea what does the log try to tell me, perhaps, someone has a clue of what is going on with the drivers, or maybe knows a possible solution?
error log in the spoiler below.

I had the same problem. But myne problem was CPU throttling due to hightemperatures so i cleaned the vents and i purchased cooler from cooler master and problem never arrived again
-
Hm I might look into it too... Do I use CPU z to look after the temps? I suspect this might as well be the CPU problem... I have all the necessary stuff installed for the video
Update: if anyone could consult me please: 80 *C for CPU and 81 *C for GPU - these are the marks when the games started lagging, until then it's been ok. Are the temps supposed to be lower for either CPU or GPU? -
probably CPU. Put laptop on some book and see does problem still exist -
-
-
Thanks Matt.
It did work ... so now I'm thinking of a more permanent solution rather than induce the books. Repasting I guess? O gee.. -
and im glad you solved your problem see how easy was?

Yup, repasting should do the trick. Let us know how it went.
-
I'm a bit concerned about the repasting... according to this guide M17x-R3 CPU & GPU Re-Pasting Guide w/Pics! I need to get the pads and I've no idea where to buy
I am far away the States, and wont be back for a long time..
Oh, and: thanks for the input! makes the change, is appreciated.
Weird troubles w/ m17xr3 - graphics
