A Samsung 830 series. One of the fastest and most reliable SSDs available right now. Retails for $400.

You can google reviews. It is very fast, and more than that it is faster than a lot of the best drives in random read/write performance (which is what really matters, it is pretty rare for you to have enough sequential data to use that speed, but the random speed is what you use everyday).

Yeah the Samsung is one of the top drives when it comes to real world use. Also it is the number one for reliability as they make all the parts: the chips, the controller, the PCB and the assembly.

I contemplated one of those but I gave it a pass, not because it wasn't good but the Performance Pro is better :)
