    What are the pro's and cons going from bios A04 to A12 on a R3

    I was thinking putting Win8 on my R3,

    Noticed a bunch of bios versions have hit the interwebs.

    I have a Samsung 830 SSD as my primary, and I always thought i needed to stay with A04 to keep my SATA3 performance.

    are there any advantages to A12? ( looks like the added some secure boot stuff for win8 ?)

    at some point ill be in the market for the 7970m ( when they get to: $300 ) but until then I don't plan on any other hardware changes.

    No cons at all if you use the bios here: [M17x R3] - BIOS A12 'unlocked' & 'SATA tweak'

    Pros are you get the newest bios, I don't know what all was added but some stuff must be beneficial, they don't release these things for fun.

    Be sure to thank svl7, he does amazing stuff.

    been running the modded A12 bios for a few days now and its working great. Use that link and you should be good to go. ;)

    Anybody got a power adapter warning after using this? I was told that my adapter was a 40W, then when I reinserted I was told it was a 130W...

    Hmm strange I have never had that issue with any bios. Could it have been a bad flash or something.

    anyone can explain what the means of SATA Tweaks with this BIOS ? Can it fixed the SATA 3 issue ? My system never run on SATA 3 speed no matter which port I used :( So I'm happy to try this one.... hope it worked with sandforce controller.

    I'm still using Modded A08 now.....
