First HAPPY NEW-YEAR for all you people of this community of alienware around the world.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a seagate 160gb 7200rpm original from dell, and a seagate momentus XT 500gb (this one is now c-drive).

I want to use the 160gb for c-drive windows etc... and momentus seagate for my games D-drive.

Is it possible? maybe in raid?
    What do you think.

You can do that. I have a XT as second drive on one of my laptops and as C on another. It really helps the most as C since Boot time is faster, and it has my 2 most played games on it. :D

A lot of people do what you're describing. RAID won't be beneficial to you in this case though. Your array would be 160GB, since that's the size of your smallest drive. That means you'd be wasting the other 300+GB on the other drive.

You should use the XT drive as your boot drive as it will be faster to boot with the 4 Gb solid state feature of the drive.

Ok thx maybe the best is to keep de momentus xt as my boot drive because its a hybrid and faster then the other one, or should be faster..... i'm not so sure at this moment, it's a new one with newest firmware so time will tell.
500gig is big enough for my windows and games i play.

I have two of those drives and they do boot up faster than the standard 7200 RPM drives

It is good to switch the momentus xt as 'slave' only if you have / buy an ssd drive for the operating system. Also what you have is not bad to swap. Probably is better to put your 160gb drive as master (c) and use the momentus xt only as slave. Now you 'force' that drive (momentus xt) to use it as the operating system + games and / or whatever you save on it (double read data). This way you will have each drive independently.

You have 160Gb (operating system + download internet, browsing etc.) + momentus xt 500GB (save your games and data, access at any time / time and speed increased).
