Overclock is if you make your hardware run faster than the stock speed. This results in higher fps, higher heat, shorter lifespan(in some cases), more power consumption.

Just watch a couple of episodes of "Home Improvement" with Tim Allen and see how it could work, and other times fail on you...

Unfortunatley that kind of attitude will get you nowhere. Most people here try to find out as much as they can on their own before posting here for help. Be willing to READ up or ask politely and someone may consider answering you.

They are all lying to you. Overclocking is to set the clock on the computer ahead of the time. The purpose is to trick people in to thinking that the time is what your computer are saying. The hard part is figuring out how much you can add before they discover the overclocking. 1,2 or 5 minutes overclocking is easy. But once you do hardcore overclocking, let`s say 15 minutes over the time, they start to get suspicious. So you must find a balance point where it is stable and they believe you.

It is really an art. Very tricky to master

This is quite true. It is usually nice to do a little of your own research before making 10 new threads.

Now, since overclocking is a subject that is near and dear to my heart, I will give you some info that should help.

Overclocking is awesome. It gives you a more powerful machine for your money. You run the risk of destroying your system though, if you don't do it properly.

The 2 rules of overclocking are keeping your temps monitored, and keeping them down. If you want more for your money, and you're willing to properly do those things, you can and should do it.

This is real overclocking. Proceed at your own risk. That is a cup filled with Acetone and dry ice on the processor in my M17x R2. :D
