I'll cut some golfballs in half, paint the alien pic on it, then sell them for $20 each. Excellent idea :D

You insult gaming laptops by referring to the Envy as one. Even the Sager and Asus boys will be offended :D

Unable to add it to cart - only color available seems to be "baby blue" (eew) and they are out of stock...
But never mind - problem already solved (see below).

I just unpacked my Lazy Couch feet! Works great, and looks great! I'm glad I found them

    EDIT: Pics!

Well I took you guys' word for it. I don't want a laptop that I'm paying so much for to overheat!

    I ordered a 2670QM, ATI 6990M and KillerN card!

Cheap Targus notebook cooler. It's WAY to small for my rig, but it I can position it nicely so that the fans face up against the GPU vents and it gets it off my desk, so it works.

I would have to disagree. I don't have exact temp measurements to compare but my M17x R3 was a lot warmer after extended gaming as compared to the Asus G74SX.

It's also notable that the Asus G74SX's fans are a lot quieter. You can easily tell that the fan is turned on on the M17x R3 but you can hardly tell that they are turned on and running on the Asus G74SX.

Bottomline is that I don't think I would need a cooling pad at all for the Asus G74SX as compared to the M17x where I would really be considering getting one.

    I wonder, can a Asus G74SX tame a XM CPU running @4.5Ghz? Not a rhetorical/trolling statement. A genuine question :)

Notice much of a difference in air flow?

Been considering upgrading the fans but not sure it is worth it :/

    Haha, great question!

My 6990M runs incredibly cool. Temps are mostly high 60s, even when overclocked, otherwise it wouldn't manage 870 core.

I can control 4.4Ghz, I'll test 4.5 and 4.6 with my new paste job. :)

There is a difference, but If I was to do it again I would just bypass the power constraints and get a 4 pin molex ac adapter.(new fan controller boards that NZXT makes are not 12v AC adapter friendly like the original one that I had. I enjoyed the sight and smell of the pretty blue smoke, then got it replaced and use the ac adapter + the USB to USB makes the fans kick up a lot higher than with just the 5v ac adapter plugged in.
