As some of you may know I have had 2 defective Alienware 17's so far (1st one that I ordered on launch day came with a DOA Video card, they replaced the machine), now the the replacement has a dead motherboard. My question here is should I just get it fix and sell it off and keep my current R4 (in the sig) and save the money or just sell off the R4 and hope I do not run into any further issues.

You must have really bad luck.

By the way: Why would you sell it off? If you don't want it, return it and get your money back, and during the same phone call, ask for an awesome deal on another system like the AW 18. I bet they will give like 20% off for your troubles.

Hate that so many things happened to that system :(. Hopefully I don't run into the same debacle.

Hopefully you will not run into the same problems as me. Now they are giving me a run around on a refund.

Correct but they are ok with me sitting around with a completely dead laptop.

Time to give em hell, this is their fault you arnt happy you've had a replacement and you want your money back now. However maybe you could also just ask for some kick backs and another replacement. I.e. new keyboard backpack or headphones. Just get whatever you want to satisfy the wait. They may actually be more inclined to do that. They were with me anyway when I had problems with my r4 in the first weeks.
