ok, on my other post I asked if I could build an alienware m17x laptop and found out that it would be more expensive and not worth it, so now I am wondering if I order one what should I get. I did a lil research and found out that if I get an i7 you should get dual video cards (which puts less strain on the processor), but what I want is to build a nice gaming laptop, not the top of line one, but a very nice one. I dont want to buy a $3000 laptop that is just slightly better then the $2000 version. You understand what I am trying to say. So I was wondering does anyone have any suggestions that I could use to order one?

For gaming purposes, the graphics cards are more important than the processor. I would say go for the dual 5870s before you go all out on the processor. Also, you really should upgrade to the high end screen. Other than that it's up to you as you'll have a pretty decent rig.
The standard 4gb ram is perfectly adequate and you can always put more in if you want..
I'm not sure what processor you should go for, depends on your budget.
Looks like on the US site at the moment for ~$2500 you can get a 740QM and 6gb RAM with the other specs I described. Seems like a pretty good deal as that processor is fine for gaming.
The only other choice is HDD or SSD, that's up to you - SSDs aren't as good in the M17x as they should be - but they're still better than HDDs. -
well you should check out the Dell Outlet store, you should eb able to find one for a decent price

Based on your name rookanga, you sound like you're an Aussie? Is that correct?
If so, the only alteration I'd make to the base spec dell.com.au M17x is to upgrade to Crossfire graphics. The rest of the AU spec (740QM processor, RGB-LED screen, etc) should be just fine for gaming. -
