    Ive read on here that their was a new bios release for the R2, is this correct and would i need to install it ?

    Ive bought my M17X R2 from a reseller in the US, its come direct from the Dell Outlet so will it already have the new bios installed if their is one ?

    The drivers that come on the machine direct from Dell, will any of them need updating and if so which ones, i'm in the UK. Any links would be appreciated.

    Yes you'll probaly have to install the New Bios which is version A10, to double check this you will have to go in to the bios of you M17x R2 and check.

    The driver disk I got from dell had all the old drivers on it and the wrong graphix drivers. I had to go to the dell web site go through the support section find alienware M17XR2 and then download the drivers from there. Just make sure that you download the correct drivers for you configuration.

    Looking at the spec in your signature its virtually the same spec as the one ive ordered, 940XM, xfire 5870's, RGB LED, bluray, windows 7 professional etc.
