Hey guys I'm new around here and names Kymeri! I found this forum when I was looking a while back to possibly upgrading my r3 gpu but I haven't done that. My main question because you guys are hardcore alienwarers okay that sounds weird but I'm keeping it. I don't know what to do with this laptop. I definitely need a new battery since I'm having the not charging but plugged in issue and I've tried everything for that. It comes and goes as it pleases which is my first gripe of the matter. A year or so ago my original HDD failed and I had to install a new one which wasn't an issue for me at all. My main point of posting here is to ask should I upgrade this thing? When I bought this laptop I didn't have much experience with gaming computers in general. Since that time I've built my own rig which has been upgraded many times and some for friends as well. I just don't know if this is actually worth upgrading since it's old hardware. I'm giving it a chance since it is Alienware. I remember ever since I was little I always wanted to have one and I have had one and it was great from 2011-2013ish then it started to decline really hard.

    Here are the specs:

Operating System Windows 10 Home 64-bit
    CPU Intel Core i7 2670QM @ 2.20GHz Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology
    RAM: 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 815MHz (11-11-11-28)
Motherboard: Alienware M17xR3 (CPU1) lel what I didn't know that it was just called that
    Graphics Generic PnP Monitor (1600x900@60Hz)
1024MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 6800M Series (Dell)
    Storage 931GB Seagate ST1000LM014-1EJ164 (SATA)

So what should I do? Upgrade and fix up this bad boy or just sell it. I also don't post on forums much anymore so I'm sorry if this post wasn't done very well. I'm just stuck in my own thoughts of what to do and after googling, I still wasn't satisfied. The laptop also runs pretty well it turned into a netflix and chill :/ of course I barely game on it because it just doesn't do well maybe it's because I'm spoiled with my i5-4690k OC'd to 4.4 GHz with an Asus Strix 1070. Point is I really want to be able to game again on this thing when I'm away for traveling. I hope you guys will be able to help me figure out what to do/try with thing and I look forward talking techy with you guys!.

Also if there is anymore information I can gather about the machine for you guys let me know, I'll be happy to do so.

I'd upgrade it if I had that beast only because I love the old look of these machines.

But if you REALLY want the best performance on the latest games, you'll need something with a 1060 and up. I'm not sure if they sell MXM 1060/70/80 cards for that model or not though.
