Hello I am so looking forward to buy a alienware, but they still sell with gtx880m, has some forecasting the arrival of gtx970 / 980m

Have you look on Alienware - Custom Gaming Computers - PC Gaming At Its Best They announced 9xx models just yesterday
Are you from USA? Or other country?grinna likes this. -
Thank you just saw now I'm very excited, I'm from Brazil

They will be BGA so you will not be able to upgrade for a newer gpu or better cpu in some time ... Think about it and maybe consider other brand. I think the last alienware like the m18x r2, alienware 17 and 18 will stay at a fairly high cost for quiet some time because of that. The new one might be cheaper in one or two years.
-
Bga? Whats that?
-
The CPU and GPU are now soldered the the motherboard making custom upgrades impossible...unless you want to try un-soldering them. They also axed the ram from 32gb max to 16gb max and the notebook is 20% thinner. The 18 is gone and we now have the 13,15 and 17.

So it will not be upgradable? Here in Brazil has a shop still find a m17 with 880m, then it would be to get this advantage with 880m and use a lot and when you need to update it so buy a 980m mxm, or buy one with bga and get stuck without upgrade?
sorry for English :9 -
buy the 880m and have the option to upgrade to the 980m MXM!
-
Correction: You won't be able to upgrade at all.
-
Yea that's what i was saying, or trying to say. When you buy a rig you can buy it with medium range parts and upgrade later with high end parts from ebay. That's what i was saying by "in some time".
Sorry, i don't speak english very well.
When leave allieware wiith with the new gtx 970/980
