They will be BGA so you will not be able to upgrade for a newer gpu or better cpu in some time ... Think about it and maybe consider other brand. I think the last alienware like the m18x r2, alienware 17 and 18 will stay at a fairly high cost for quiet some time because of that. The new one might be cheaper in one or two years.

The CPU and GPU are now soldered the the motherboard making custom upgrades impossible...unless you want to try un-soldering them. They also axed the ram from 32gb max to 16gb max and the notebook is 20% thinner. The 18 is gone and we now have the 13,15 and 17.

So it will not be upgradable? Here in Brazil has a shop still find a m17 with 880m, then it would be to get this advantage with 880m and use a lot and when you need to update it so buy a 980m mxm, or buy one with bga and get stuck without upgrade?

    sorry for English :9

Yea that's what i was saying, or trying to say. When you buy a rig you can buy it with medium range parts and upgrade later with high end parts from ebay. That's what i was saying by "in some time".

Sorry, i don't speak english very well.
