I opened up my laptop yesterday and tried to find a 12V connections without any success. Anyone know where to get 12V on an M17x R4?

Just what do you need a 12V rail for, may I ask? Unfortunately, I don't think there is anything else in the r4 that uses 12V....

To my knowledge, only the SATA and ATX/PC Main supplies 12v in a laptop. The sata, you MAYBE can tap into (if the motherboard supplied 12v to the SATA in a laptop), but the voltage regulators send the 12V directly to the CPU...or at least that's what I remember from high school. CPUs still run off 12v current, yes?

Thanks, but I ended up using a 5v connection instead.

All good ideas, but I would like to maintain mobility with a fully internal system.
