Im specifically looking at the AMD Radeon HD 6950M just because im assuming its a bit less than the AMD Radeon HD 6970M which runs about $500....
And there performance is near the same esp with overclocking.
I cant find any retailers, not even on Ebay.

It would be cheaper/easier for you to sell your current unit, then reorder with the 6970M.
I don't think you'll see that many 6950M's for sale. Most laptop gpu's bought/sold these days are the 460M, 560M, 4870M, 5870M, 260M and soon 6970M. -
well logical blue one ( Logical Blue One - Buy Cheap Laptops & Notebooks Online. HP, Toshiba & ASUS Laptop Computer Sale | Logical Blue One) is one where you can pick up a 485M
-
Thats what I was afraid of....
-
I don't think 6950M is an MXM card, I believe it's built-in..could be wrong though.
-
Ah, either way looks like im going to end up selling my new R3
How difficult do you guys think it will be to sell? Its brand new. -
Your specs are going for about $1600 on Dell outlet, if you are in the return period return it, the 6950 isn't dell supported anyway. 6970 is a few hundred dollar upgrade.
-
Difference is my box is still sealed. So its brand new.
Because its still in the process of being shipped.
And if I sell it I can get alot more. I Bought the laptop for $1457, so if I can get between 1700-1800 for it, I could easily get the 6970m -
That's cheap, hopefully that wasn't on AAFES because it's against policy to buy them for resale...
-
Then thats def not what im going to do lol. Though if I sold it at some point I never bought it with the intention to resell. So.... I bought it for my own interest and needs, but I want the 6970m, so we will see.
-
I don't know the rules on that, I am just saying you don't want to lose that priv...

I agree with this statement. This was not intentional, so you should be all good. -
I think the resell policy is for people who buy them from AAFES just to put them up on Ebay, CL, etc.
I tried calling last night to get them to upgrade my graphics card to the 6970, but they said its already they cant/wont after the purchase date, and they wouldnt give me a price on the card either.
So I could just buy the one off ebay if I find the 6870 is lacking for my needs.
Though the more I think about it the more I figure it might be fine. I am not overly worried about being able to max every game on the planet, though I always like to have more than I need just incase.....
Thank the military and family for that lol -
Cant you simply return the notebook and get your money back? What's the policy on this?
-
I dont have time before I get shipped is the issue. Because I cant get mail where im going so I will need it before hand.
-
When you receive it call them and say you want to return it...Return it and get a new one
-
I leave for an undisclosed location 7 days after im supposed to get this one thats being shipped now. I wont have the time to return it and get a new one before im gone.
Once I am gone I can not receive mail untill I get back. Its a secure location in which we will not be allowed to get mail. -
That sucks. =/
-
That it does, so ill just have to order the card itself when I get back.
-
So you haven't received the notebook yet? Why does your sig say your GPU is overclocked then?
-
I had a 485M in my sig before I actually had it
-
Because thats exactly what im doing when I get it using trixx, and I already have the 8GB of 1600 mhz of ram so that I can install it right after I get it.
-
Did you get rid of it?
-
Returned it due to the whole can't use 3D thing.
-
Ah gotcha.... That would be disappointing...
-
Podunks...get the guys who are taking you to the "undisclosed location" to reimburse you .....seriously
-
Lol the military.
Where in the world can I buy mobile graphics cards!?!?
