I just got my R3 yesterday. I used my own SSD's so had to wipe and reload everything. After downloading/installing the Alienware Command Center from Dell.com I do not see AlienSense? Is it a separate download?

I have read that AlienSense is sold seperately. I think its about $20-25. I tried to get it for my R3 but it was not available in Canada for some reason.

I am curious if you had a big bushy beard when you get AlienSense and later if you shave will it still recognize you? I am also curious what happens if it can't recognize you for some reason can you still get access via a password?

AlienSense is included automatically on many systems as part of the command center but if memory serves it's an option on the R3. You may have selected it, you may not. If you did not select or receive it, you may still try the technology by downloading a free trial from Sensible Vision. It's called "FastAccess" in that case, but it's the same fundamental technology (actually with a few additional features such as the ability to login into websites and to save energy through face tracking).

AlienSense and FastAccess use a very unique learning algorithm. Instead of a one-time enrollment typical of other biometrics, AlienSense will learn more versions of how you look any time you enter your Windows password.

    Here's the online FAQs:
How does the learning algorithm work?
What happens if I put a phone to my ear, take off my glasses, grow a beard or otherwise change my appearance?
