I already have purchased my Alienware M17X R3, and at the time I got it only the 1102 was available. I am wondering where can I buy a Killer 1103 card to swap with my 6300? I play a lot of lag-sensitive games so I really want to replace my card!

I called their office (bigfoot network corporate), but they have not called me back yet. So far I cannot find anyone who sells it individually in the USA. I think the official launch date is 7-25 (don't know where I heard that). Maybe then it will be available.

Fortnax sells them for $90, my 6300 was $35, that is just nuts. The 1103 doesn't even have a networking processor like the desktop cards I am pretty sure. I am going to wait and see if I can get one a bit cheaper in a few days, but this is definitely a necessity for gaming. In FPS games and MMOs the difference is noticeable I hear, no more stuttering!

Just remember that the difference will only be noticeable if the bottleneck is the card.. If its ISP/modem/router/switch causing you to have high latency theres more to upgrade than just the card

I ordered one from Aikimox the shipping is steep, but he is working with the best price he can get, and Considering that Alienware sells them for $80 what is ten dollars more.. I tried to setup shipping and I saved ten bucks, but it was a real hassle. Try calling Dell to see if you can order one from them. The post above is true as well you need to have a good router. I already took some screenshots of my in game ping now and did a ping test to compare when I get my 1103. I will do a review.

I just got off the phone with Bigfoot networks. Very nice people. The 1103 has not been released to the general public, only Dell is selling it at this time according to them. They anticipate AVA Direct selling them individually starting around August 1st.

I advised them that there was a large demand among the internet forum crowd for these new wifi cards. I told them they could probably increase their market share if they offered the cards individually for resale. They said I could go to any of their distrubitors (Xotic, gentech, IbuyPower, etc) and they were allowed to sell them individually. I let them know that at this time all of those distributors only sell laptops, not individual components. They were concerned about selling a product that was not plug and play but required laptop disassembly. I let them know that the users at the forum were more than capable of installing wifi card and that if they made it available that we would buy it. They said AVA direct should have them soon (unfortunately they charge $40+10 shipping for 1102 :( ).

If you want to email Bigfoot and let them know you are ready to buy the 1103 as soon as they put it out there, then here is their email address. I think if we all emailed them, they would get around to it sooner.

    CUT & PASTE

    Dear Bigfoot Networks,

I am very excited about your new Killer 1103 3x3 wifi laptop cards. Unfortunately these cards are not available through your vendors individually, they can only be purchased with a new laptop! I'd love to buy one, and so would a great many other laptop gaming enthusiasts. I am more than capable of installing the product on my own. I hope you will have a authorized seller who will be offering it for individual sale soon.

    Thank you

The cards are now available at AVADirect for $77, which is $13 cheaper than at Fortnax.
