Dont purchase anything. If in fact damage was caused in the course of a warranty repair, you need to insist it be resolved by Dell.

Call Support back, provide your case# which was used with the last service call and speak with a supervisor. If you are not seeing results, see this post and try the path outlined in the post. REMEMBER, first try to call and resolve and have a case#.

batboy is right. but from my experience, dell has a serious problem with the cable connectors, they don't have part numbers for it or something.

then what i have to do?
its been a month and i dont think this is going any where!!

the only solution remained is to give the old cable to someone to fix it and then use it !!!

    i am totally disappointed...
    :(

i am using very old laptop that freezes when open 3 web pages !

I already suggested a course of action. If you dont want to go that route (for whatever reason), then not much more I or anyone else can suggest.

    Hello,

You need to get the entire sound board, as the wire is not sold seperately. You can ask them to replace the board as you are under warranty.

Case Number : , in Saudi Arabia

I will throw my laptop in the garbage because dell does not have a $1 cable.

    Did you try here:

    Welcome to Home User Support

and if that fails, not sure. You are not in the US and the Saudi site does not offer an escalation path. Not sure if they will respond, but if I were you, I would still complete this form:

    https://support.dell.com/support/to...lcare/outstanding_issues_tech?c=us&l=en&s=gen

explain in the message field what happened and that you are not receiving any assistance from your support center. ask for assistance in contacting the appropriate department in your area to resolve this. Perhaps the US based escalation folks can reach out to your region's support folks.
