    Hey guys,

I am thus far satisfied with the M17x and wanted to know where or how I can upgrade my regular 1080p screen to the better 3D Vision. How much would it cost me and where do I pay or who do I contact? Also does it come with Nvidia glasses? Dell online chat quoted me 800 dollars refurbished, not even NEW. Is this true? That is very pricey, when I placed my order, I remember that it was only a 200 dollar upgrade.

    Thank You.

You aren't going to find it much cheaper unless someone pulled one from their unit. It does not come with glasses they are a separate ~$100 purchase. You should have gotten it during configuration, sorry.

I'm running 3D out to an external BenQ monitor thru my display port, but I do have the 120hz 3Dvision screen on my M17xR4. I'm guessing if you purchased a monitor with 3Dvision included that may be a lot cheaper option than trying to upgrade your laptop but of course this isn't much help if you game purely on your laptop or travel often

Remember that the 3D monitor will also need a 3D vision emitter that you plug into the motherboard. and run the wire along with the eDP cable.

You could always buy the 3D Vision USB kit. The range on the emitter that's built-in kind of sucks. I used to use my external emitter especially when gaming on my projector due to it desyncing quite frequently if I turned too far.

Please send us an e-mail to [email protected] and we'll give you the pricing. The issue is that at the time of the purchase the upgrades are cheaper. Any upgrade you do later on would cost a lot more than then.

Can you actually just replace the panel itself ? From a 60hz one to a 120Hz one, and just connect it to the different place..does that work at all ? Anyone have a guide that explains more of this, Also what do you have to change in the bios to see the new screen ? Theres some options for what type of LVDS your using right.
Im not os much interested in the 3D as having 120Hz, and lower latency screen.

Congrats on necro'ing a 2 year old thread LOL

You can replace the panel itself. Remove the whole assembly and back of the panel and you can unscrew the LCD from the rear. You require an NVIDIA card as the AMD ones don't support the 120hz panel.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHJEU0Rsnrk should help some on replacing the LCD.
