    and a survey....

    1. Which Gaming Mouse that you use to equip your alienware ?
    2. I planning on buying new gaming mouse and consider about Cyborg R.A.T 7 cost 100 us dollar or a RAZER NAGA, but confuse to choose between them.

    http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.219936100

    http://www.cyborggaming.com/prod/rat7.htm

I usually Play FPS games, i need your suggestion which gaming mouse that fit for FPS games. Cause until now, i couldn't find any gaming mouse that really fit me.

Well, just share your experience with your gaming mouse, your review about your own gaming mouse.

    Thank You.

In my experience I would choose the R.A.T 7 if you play mainly FPS, it has the red button allowing for accurate sniping if that is important to you. It will actually slow down the DPI to allow you to line up your shot carefully. It is also has great customizing to accommodate your hand size.

Well, every person is going to have their own preference in mice. I really recommend you put your hand on a mouse and feel it before you buy it. Or even better find someone who owns one and actually use it in games.

I"m a huge Logitech fan. I've owned a couple Razer products over the years and found their quality to be sub-par and their mice to be painful to use. However, a lot of people swear by Razer mice.

I use a Logitech G500 with my m15x right now. I bought it to use in addition to my Logitech G5 (v2). The G500 is a really nice mouse, but its quite large. I have very large hands and even so, the G500 still feels a bit too big to be super quick and accurate with in FPS's. My old G5 (which isn't made anymore, unfortunately) is a bit smaller and feels a lot quicker/more precise as I can get more of my hand on it and have more control over the mouse. But, I've gotten used to the G500 over time and its not a bad mouse.

The Razer Naga is a cool looking mouse, but I can't imagine what you could use those buttons for in FPS's. To me, they would just get in the way.

The RAT 7 has been getting a lot of good press lately but its one of those designs where I think you really must touch it before you buy it to make sure you can deal with its awkwardness.

.. Those are my opinions.. Again I can't stress enough that you should really try and use a mouse before you choose to buy it.

I use a Razer Mamba and it's by far the best mouse I've ever owned.

That being said, I don't think you can go wrong with a logitech mouse either as I've always been very impressed with their mice.

I agree with what other folks are saying here though...if you can, try out each one and find the one that feels best to you.

    I have a Logitech MX1100 and a R.A.T. 7.

I mostly just use the Cyborg mouse for FPS and the Logitech for everything else.

Cool post I was going to make one too lol ! I always wanted to try a mini usb mouse since it doesnt stick out much from the port. I bought a Logitech MX anywhere but Im going to return it. On my macbook pro I had a wired Deathadder that was good. On my desktop I have a G9 which I am die hard for and this is my 2nd one. I had one for my macbook but my dog chewed the brains out of it.

I'll be getting a wired mouse since the 17x is pretty beastly and wont be moving all that much when setup anyways. Probably another g9.

I have the Saitek Cyborg mouse Review - Saitek Cyborg Gaming Mouse | bit-gamer.net, the Tactx mouse , a Saitek GM3200, and a MX1000 wireless. I use the Tactx mouse mostly but it is a bit small for my hand. The Cyborg fits my hand well and and the size is customizable and has a high cool factor being motorized but the thumb rest is in the way of my sausage fingers.
    I am going to get a R.A.T 7 soon.
lol, I need to sell some of my other gaming mice before I get the rat.

I use a Razer Lachesis suits me well plenty of buttons not to heavy but not to light. 4000DPI is plenty for me. Depends really on what you play if you play MMO's you would want a mouse with lots of buttons like the Naga. If you play FPS's. You wouldn't need to many buttons, but I do agree with the guy above that said I would go to a store and see which fits better or find a friend that has a mouse you are interested in three of my friends tried my lachesis in games and they each bought one, and you have to know which type of grip you have a "Claw" grip(palm raised slightly) or a "Palm" grip(rest your palm on the butt of the mouse). The lachesis is perfect for a claw type grip can be a little uncomfortable with the other type. A wireless mouse is usually no good for gaming with some exceptions such as the mamba or R.A.T. 9.

I had a R.A.T. 5 wonderful customisable mouse which was great for FPS games, small dough! Was going for the R.A.T.7 also but found that the Razer Deathadder feels great in hand and suits my needs.
Good luck with your purchase i'll advice you to grab them before you buy them to see which of them feels better for you.

A friend of mine owns a naga. He brought it in one day and let me play around with it. It seemed like a pretty decent mouse and he loves it. But a word of note on the button configuration. The number pad layout of the buttons on the side look really cool, but because of their position on the mouse, I found it only reasonable to be able to use the first 2 rows (front 6 buttons). The other 6 just sit way too far back to be usable, especialy in fast paced action. I actually had to slide my hand back and forth on the mouse to be able to reach all 12. personaly, I am going for the new logitech G700. Not quite as many controls but I can reach all of them without moving my hand. And I have been a logitech user for more years than some of the people around here have been alive, so I'm probably a little biased. But I have never thrown away a logitech mouse because it broke. Currently, I feel that their customization software for the G-keys is the best in the industry right now. There is pretty much nothing you can't assign to a button. Just my .02.

Logitech G700. Really comfortable, super accurate, easy to adjust, well-placed buttons, great configurability. The ability to go wired/wireless without missing a step is huge.

I use razer orochi and logitech anywhere mx... logitech actually feels more sturdier when compared to razer.... the materials used are better IMO. But both of them are great... orochi when wired is great for gaming... its small but i have got used to it...

Since I owned gaming laptops., I tend to like wireless gaming mice .
    I've owned Logitech G7,G9 wired,Razer Mamba,Logitech G700.

    G7 crapped out on me!

    G9 wired, don't like wire.

Razer Mamba, painful to use! I agree with Astro.

G700 is the mouse i like the most.LOL, maybe it's the latest.

I usually Play FPS games ,just like You.

Just my 2 cents, You could Googles for the reviews.

    Cheers

i retired my deathadder a few months ago and now im using a razer mamba. i sort of got scammed cos i thought the receiver was going to be small like the logitech wireless mice but it turned out to be a huge charging dock/receiver.

overall its not bad but intense gaming wise the battery doesnt last over 5 hours for me especially if you do alot of frequent dpi changing.

Logitech Performance MX mouse , a nice mouse. Friend of mine use it for gaming. It's has dark field if i'm not wrong. The shape really fit most everyone hand. a really nice mouse from logitech.

    Drkknightfan
yeah, the sniper button. I really love it. A red dot button that allow player to drop the FPS drastically. And a scroll button to allow player to change their weapons.More of it, it is a custom able mouse. But its minus in lightning effect. It doesn't come with any light that changeable, and i dont think it can save many profile. None of the review mention about the mouse profile.

    Astrogiblet
Yeap. You're right. I have try my hand on NAGA. Its fit me well. But as you can say, i really wonder what would i do with the 12 buttons else. Razer say it is custom able buttons. If the 12 buttons can custom able, well i might get it. For the R.A.T 7 i havent try it, cause i havent seen one in store. And Your G500 mouse its one of the best FPS mouse before . A nice mouse.

    dave-p
Logitech Trackman marble is one the smoothest mouse i ever seen. Its a nice mouse. and a very sensitive mouse. I do try it before. Its a great mouse in design and sensitive. The minus is that it doesnt have many buttons that allow us to play games which mostly need 5 buttons.

    Greywolf22

MAMBA is the BEST Mouse i ever touch. But its really expensive. A hundred over dollar. Thats why when it comes out at first time, I didnt buy it although i wanted it so much. a hundreds buck for a mouse was an expensive things before. its was a RAZER glorious day to have MAMBA. and TODAY, they did it again with RAZER NAGA Epic.

    JaiaV
Wow. You already had the R.A.T 7 ? Well, in your opinion and your experience, how well is R.A.T 7 when you playing FPS games ?

    5abivt
yeah, G9 a great mouse, a mamba's competitor. I agree with you about wired mouse. I love wired than wireless. cause its efficient in time. No need to charged and recharged. But thats just my opinion. I do love wireless too, cause its move able and its easy to keep or to store it cause it doesnt have wired.

    GetFound
The cyborg mouse a nice mouse. And yeah, its the great things about CYBORG's MOUSES, its shape's is custom-able. Yeah, i gotta save a little money too, the R.A.T 7 kinda expensive, but its one of the coolest mouse i've ever seen.

    Mkelliny
RAZER Lachesis its a great option for me. But i think i'm gonna have a 5600 dpi mouse. And i do agree that wireless mouse is not efficient cause it got to charged and recharged. But wireless mouse is move able, i mean since there;s no wired, so we can move it in any where, any direction.

    katalin_2003
Thanks. And for some info, RAZER have a holiday program that its customer or its fans can have a Razer Deathadder for a holiday gift. Why dont you check up at the RAZER facebook and Razer ceo Min lIang Tan facebook. Perhaps you would have a deathadder for free.

    jcaulley
Thank you for your review. i do try NAGA. Dont know why, somehow it fits my hand well. BUT, i will try the G700. I'm gonna look for it in store. Thanks.

    shempmalone
Yeah, Both jcaulley and you said the same things. Its make me curious. I'm gonna try it. Thanks

    oneabove

Yeap. Orochi is a great mouse with dual mode wire and wireless function. And a bluetooth Connectivity. nice mouse.

    fishnbanjo
The R.A.T 9 is completely a wireless mouse. IF you search the wireless mouse perhaps you can try the R.A.T 9 or MAMBA. and thanks for your review about your mouse.

    ndudsz
Yeah, imperator its a nice mouse. But it has the same price with NAGA. That's why it confuse me.

    Pursuit
Well, You and others alienware owner : shempmalone and jcaulley also said the same thing about G700. My friend told me that it was a dual wired and wireless function, just like MAMBA. I'll try it. Thanks a lot.

    DboogieC
Steel series is a nice game. But its more develop for WARCRAFT gaming system if i'm not wrong. Its a perfect MOUSE for such games as warcraft. Thanks for your review.

    5150Joker
Yeah, MAMBA one of the best mouse I've ever seen. Its so far, fit most of the alienware laptops. Thanks Joker.

    rubyboy79
MAMBA is a great mouse. Friend of mine didn't like to charge and recharged it. so He just make it wired. Thanks for your review.

    ACmilan
Yeap. Orochi is a nice mobile mouse.

Luminair G5 is a nice mouse. A competitor of Razer copperhead. Its release in 2007 if i'm not wrong. Wow. You have it for a long time. You surely know how to keep mouse well.

Well Thank You everyone. Hope that all of our reviews in different gaming mouse can be a reference for those who searching Gaming mouse for His / her ALIENWARE.

No problem !! I actually am planning on getting another g9x and returning the mx anywhere asap.

I am actually going to consider the steel series wow mouse. I dont use any extra buttons except for a back button but im pretty uber at Arena and i think I may actually be able to use some extra buttons for cool functions/macros. Ill probably use it on my desktop if I do go with it and stick the g9x I already have in the orion backpack :p

If anything I think many of the mice posted about are excellent. I've tried many and feel that no matter which mouse you get you will get accustomed to it and like it.

Well, I went through the whole 'deciding on which mouse to buy' stage a few months ago, and so I did this- I went down to my local Best Buy (which I despise on so many levels it's hard to describe so this made me feel a bit better) and bought a Razer Mamba, tried it, then returned it, bought a Razer Orochi, tried it, returned it, etc, working my way through nearly ever major contender there is when people talk about 'gaming' mice.

Then, after all of that was done, I ordered a G700 off of Newegg, which was the only mouse Best Buy didn't carry, and have never looked back. It is far and away the best mouse I have ever, ever owned, or even touched. It is, when configured as a gaming mouse, as hyper-accurate and sensitive as the best thing Razer puts out there in both wired adn wireless mode, is far more ergonomic, feels spectacular in hand, has more than enough buttons to keep anyone happy, and can even replicate the 'Red Button' effect found on R.A.T. mice.

It is, quite simply, perfect. And nowadays you can regularly find it on Amazon or Newegg for less than 100 USD, making it, as far as I can recommend, a must-have.

EDIT- I have to amend, however ,that both the R.A.T. 7 (didn't try the 9) and the Razer Mamba were also stellar mice- however, the Mamba just doesn't have the versatility of the G700 and the R.A.T., for all of it's customizing options, just never felt as good. The Razer Orochi, however, I do have to recommend everyone looking in to a mouse for gaming stays away from, as the 'wake-up lag' issue you may have read about did affect all three of them that I went through- basically, when using the BT connection option, the mouse goes to sleep when inactive for 2-3 seconds, and then when you move it again, it has to 'wake up' and re-establish the connection, causing your cursor (or where you're looking in an FPS) to jump around erratically. Absolutely a killer for gaming, and annoying as all hell normally too.

For my mousepad what I did is take the alienware sleeve and a rocketfish pad (the big metal one) and wrap the sleeve around the rocketfish pad and tape it so its on there firmly. It works extremely well, the mamba tracks perfectly on the sleeves surface and it grips just right.

^^ yes, the g700 is one of the few gaming mice to charge in wired mode. A charge lasts from 1-3 days, depending on the rechargable battery you use, and to recharge to full takes about half a day. I have it pluged in for work, and at home it is wireless.
Praetorian's review was spot on and i second it completely! Also tried the orchi and didnt like it. The g700 is great for big hands and programing the buttons are easy. I also like the button placement alot.

I am in need of a QUIET mouse where the clicking does not bother my sensitive wife. I have a razor pro and am looking for a mouse that makes about the sound of our M17x keyboard when clicking.

Anyone have an idea about that? :(

    Thanks in advance

Just a couple more notes on the G700. One of the other things that I preffered over the razer mice was the scroll wheel. The G700 gives you a choise between click style and free wheel. The button imediately behind the scroll whell is a quick change between the 2 options. The scroll wheel, in addition to having up and down scrolling has the left and right scroll feature, which the razers do not. This left and right action is treated just like any of the other buttons in the software and can be assigned macros or key press. I find it real convienent to set this up to scroll through selections, a quick flick of the finger right or left can move you to your next/previous weapon or target depending on the game. I play a lot of WoW and have this set to target next or target previous.

I just looked at the g700 at the local best buy and I'm impressed at the features. What's the best price you guys are finding?

I really love the fact that it's wireless but recharges AND can be used wired mode when connected.

I have indeed been using my same G5 since 2007 - the mouse itself works the same as the day that I got it, though the plastic has started to slough off a bit after around 7500 hours of use.

    Well...
here is the ling of Razer CEO facebook...
    Min-Liang Tan | Facebook
or try to search MIN LIANG TAN

He is the founder and CEO of RAZER.

BUT, sadly he has decided whose going to have the razer deathadder as a gift.
    But cheer up.
This isnt the first time RAZER give their product for free.
    There will be more.
    :)

    Nice..
so its been 3 years for you to having that mouse....
    great...
i doubt that i can take care of it like you do..

    Well...
nice design and got multicolor lights..
the one thing you should consider is the DPI...
    its got 3200 DPI...
DPI is a very important things in gaming...
in my opinion you could get 4000 dpi in other gaming mouse with the same price....
    But that's just my suggestion....

That roccat sure does look good. I hate the fact that I'm right handed and there are mouse that have buttons for lefties. I don't want to be feeling buttons on the side that I rest my fingers and move the mouse.

I just got home from picking up a 2nd g9x . I figured why not, it was on sale for $50 new and I'm already used to it so there's no worries there!

I considered a few but wow people just suck at responding to emails on my local kijiji!

    Well...
is there anyone already bought the RAZER NAGA ? (The wired one)
I forgot to ask whether it has onboard memory to keep our cinfiguration so that we can use it on different computers or laptops.
So does it has the onboard memory or something call "RAZER SYNAPSE" ???
there isnt any review talk about that.
so i guess my only hope is to ask the one who already bought it.

if i am not mistaken alienware tact x mouse is a rebadged g9x and tact x keyboard is the g11. Either way both of those can be had a lot cheaper than the alienware tact x and logitech normally runs $20-$30 rebate per item and g9x is $59-$69 normally and $30 mail in rebate. G15 keyboards can be had for $50-60.

I use the Razer Mamba, and the Tactx, both are as good as my Logitech G5 :). I picked up the Tactx Mouse and Keyboard for real cheap, I think $80.00 for both, Dell was running a deal :)

Im quite happy with my razer mamba which was an upgrade for my now defunct razer diamondback. (the cord broke, I guess with the mamba it will be the batteries eventually but no broken cord... lol)
The destructor mat that I bought to go with was warped when i recieved it which is pretty unacceptable for a $100 RRP slab of plastic for the mouse to slide around on. Really my desktop has full time custody of my mamba though. Im wondering whether to get another mamba or performance mx atm. Havent had a logitech mouse yet, but have had other reasonable logitech products (speaker system, cheap and nasty notebook style keyboard)

Does anyone have two mambas going in their house? Is this even possible, or are they going to interfere with each other? The one thing i dont like about the performance mx is that its a lot of $$$$ (pretty similar to the mamba) but logitech doesnt even give you a DPI spec. Theres so much else with this mouse that looks sheer win for the notebook enthusiast. However the fact that logitech wont even 'fess up with the DPI of this product cant be a good sign IMO.
    :(

Anyone else have any feelings on the mamba vs. performance mx dilemna please?

The G700 uses 1 standard AA battery. It comes with one but it is removable and there are better ones. I do wish it came with 2, it would last longer, but that is just a small gripe.

What's the max days u can get from a single 2000mah battery. Charging every once every 2-3 days is not exactly what I have in mind. Thanks for the input.

I recently purchased a Razer Black Mamba. The accuracy and sensitivity are perfect and the sensitivity can be adjusted to your liking with ease. There area also macros and such that can be programmed into the mouse for specific buttons for certain games. The best mouse I have ever owned, although the price is a bit steep at $130.

Unfortunatly gaming mice are real power eaters, due to all the programable buttons they have as well as super high DPI. The other mice that can go half a year on one battery have all the functions hardwired and require far less energy, in addition to having 1/5th the DPI.

If you want long life then go for a standard logictech mouse. I personally dont need all these buttons and I mostly got the G700 for the size and feel. It can be a pain to have to recharge after every 2-3 days, but those are the breaks.
