1st build with 4 gb RAM sounds better to me. Can easily and cheaply add RAM later.

Either way though, both the 6990 and 580m are total beasts of cards. You'll be happy with either.

Im agree.I think: you sould choose 2720 and 6990 because 2630 not support Ram 1600.

Agreed. Go with the first build and drop the ram upgrade. The first build will get you a more powerful CPU and more powerful GPU. It will also be cheaper!

Yep! Yep! And Yep! I would drop the extra RAM. Save that $$$ bc you can get it cheap at newegg.com or ebay.com and go with the first config.

This build will give the most value for money. Upgrade the warranty to 4 years though, its better to be safe than sorry ;)

^^^ yes for an alienware system i would recommend the the warranty, also the 6990m with 2720, and less ram as alienware likes to charge a lot for ram for some reason.

+1 On d2c's suggested setup and warranty recommendation, If you need to be bumped up to the next level (10% to 15% discount for ex.) the best thing to add is the warranty IMO.

I would to the 1st build, with 4GB ram, use the savings leftover from the difference between the 580 and 6990 to buy 16GB ram from newegg (approx. 210$) and get a squaretrade warranty for 3 years (approx. 250$). I agree with Diclofenac on the 2720qm, you will be able to use 1600 RAM!

You can use 1600 RAM and 1866 RAM with the 2630QM guys, don't spread misinformation.

Go with the 2630QM, the 4GB RAM (so you can upgrade later), and the 6990M.

Get the 1st build and a 3 year advanced warranty hands down. Get a 320GB HD and then buy yourself an SSD. Also get 4GB of RAM and get a 1600Mhz HyperX kit for $100.
