    Hi,

I'm planning in upgrading my R3 by adding a SSD for the OS and some frequently used programs/games.

I've had a look around (mainly this forum) and decided to go for the Crucial M3 128gb, but when I looked around for one it seems there are a few different versions of it (some say they are slim types, some say different speeds etc.)

Can anyone link me to the best one? (for UK delivery)

I've been looking on amazon and eBay so far and they're coming up at around £75-£80.

    Thanks in advance

M4 is an M4 as far as I'm aware. You'll need to upgrade the firmware once you have installed everything.

Go to crucials website and get the firmware there.

You just need the cheapest one. Some are 9.5mm, some are 7mm, some come with a 3.5" mounting bracket, and some come with a transfer kit. The drive included in any one of those will work, so just get the cheapest one.

does the .7mm one work? thought the M17x caddy could only take 9.5mm drives.

Cheers fellas, as long as the 9mm one isn't too big then I suppose it doesn't matter which one if the insides are the same.

Currently collecting all the resources to perform the installation, havent seen "upgrade SSD firmware" anywhere yet, thanks for that.

Well...I haven't actually done it, but other than height, the dimensions are exactly the same.

It's simple. Crucial has easy to follow instructions on their website.
