Why can't I run with decent FPS, can barely play it at high( which is the lowest setting). What would I have to change in this new M17x-r3 to be able to play it.

I just got it 1 week ago and it's the base model.

    4GB 1333MHZ
    Intel Core i7 2630QM
    1.5GB GDDR5 Nvidia GeForce GTX 460M
    320GB 7,200RPM SATA-II HDD

Are you running the game on the actual discrete graphics card or the integrated graphics? I would think that the 460 would get reasonable fps in Crysis 2.

I believe there is a way to change which graphics card you're using, but unfortunately I'm still waiting on my R3 to be shipped so I don't know the procedure. :/

It appears that Fn + F7 may bring up the option to switch your graphics between integrated and discrete, but again I can't comment from personal experience. Hopefully someone else will chime in.

edit: This also apparently only works with the 460 if you don't have the 3D screen, which I assume you don't have since you mentioned you had the base model.

Also, double check that you have proper Nvidia drivers installed.

You ARE running the game while plugged in, right?

Anyone know the name of the software that automatically detects drivers that need to be updated?

Those can be a bit invasive. Basically, if you're still running on exactly what Dell installed, you should be at least ok for the driver installed. Did you change anything from factory?

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M - Notebookcheck.net Tech shows Crysis running at high very well with this card, and it requires more power than Crysis 2 by my understanding. Let me know on the driver thing.

Download gpu-z and make a log file of your game play. Upload it here so we can see what's going on. Do you have the 3d model?

Did you check your power settings? Are they set to performance?

Looks like theres an update for my graphics NVIDIA DRIVERS 270.61 WHQL

Yet it won't install since it says they cannot find compatibility.
My graphic card is the 460m so i really don,t know why it wont recognize it.

    Any help is appreciated.

Update on my problem: I overclocked the memory to: 650 core: 797 and shader 1600. This is my first time overclocking my graphic card so i probably did it right since i dont see any improvement :S
