Why can't I update my driver?

    I have an Alieware M17X-R2 with a Radeon HD5870. My OS is Win7 64-bit.
My problem is that I see in my device manager that my driver version is outdated:

I went to AMD's site to download the latest driver. When I click on the 'Install' button of the AMD Catalyst Mobility Download, nothing happens:

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? It seems that all I should have to do is click on the 'Install' button for the software to install the correct updated driver. Is there a workaround?

    UPDATE:

I just tried to manually execute the "13-9_mobility_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql.exe" file in the AMD directory, and it gives me the follow error:

I know that I'm running Win7 64-bit, so I'm not sure why I'm getting that error:

    UPDATE:
I tried installing the 32-bit version of the driver, and got the same error message as above. Why, I'm wondering, does the software not recognize that I'm running a 64-bit version of the OS? Is there any way to force the software to install?

How I had to do it was delete driver software for display driver in Device Manager, target the ATI folder with the extracted drivers and have Windows install the drivers that way.

Ah, that's an idea. I actually tried to extract the drivers from the .exe but it appears I can't do that. I tried using 7-Zip and Universal Extractor. Neither of them would work. Is there another way to extract the drivers from the .exe?

Just use an older version of Catalyst, 13.9 had issues with my R2 as well. Run the installer for the drivers, but after it extracts everything, cancel the .exe and find the files.
