I have 2 M17x R3's the one with the 580m is fine for keeping updated. The one with the 460m and 120Hz screen will not update past 285.62. This is actually my favorite one but the 285.62 drivers kill the TV tuner in media center. I've tried almost everything but no go. I know this card doesn't have optimus so maybe that is the problem but there must be a workaround. Installed the A12 bios but that didn't work either.

Are you actually running the Nvidia installer? You can extract the files and manually update the drivers via the extracted INF files.

Yes I am running the installer. Not really familiar with how to manually update drivers. This machine actually runs every game I play fine and no complaints, screen is gorgeous. That particular driver broke media center though and I can't install anything else.

Extract the Nvidia files but cancel the uninstaller. Go to Device Manager, go to display adapters right click manually update, find the extracted INF files and boom.

You could try a clean driver installation

Plus, you can always clean up your registry manually or using a tool such as driver fusion to make sure you leave no traces of your old driver.

Thanks but I think I tried that before and kind of screwed up my machine. Luckily I had a backup. It is a 3D machine and here is the 460 ID if it helps. It's not the end of the world if I can't ever update but it would be nice. Appreciate the input. 460.jpg Edited to ask Is this card only able to use dell drivers?
