Do the M17xR4's come with Widi built in? I thought the drivers were loaded on the laptop and all I need is a tv that supports it.

    You mean WirelessHD?

If you do, I believe you have to tick the box for it when purchasing the system, it costs 100-150$ extra I believe from memory.

What jiggymf said. You'll need the right hardware.

Well, WiDi and WiHD are two different things. WiHD uses the additional extra hardware of the Wireless HD card (which is an optional extra) but WiDi uses the Intel Integrated Graphics of the cpu & an Intel Wireless card, such as the n6300 or the likes.

A good explanation of the differences can be found here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m17x/563332-widi-wihd.html

WiDi is built-in as long as you have a Wireless Intel Card and Intel Graphics Card.

I have the intel wireless bluetooth 4.1 and the killer wireless card/ its actually pretty confusing. I think the drivers loaded for it.
