So I've only now learned that this was a major problem in the preview version so I feel this should have been resolved by the final release. But I guess not!
Has anyone else experienced their WiFi disconnecting and reconnecting every few minutes? And if so did you manage to fix it??

I haven't had any wifi issues yet. Have you tried updating/reinstalling your drivers?

I have the same issue. I've had this issue prior to 8.1 as well. I've searched for over a year and tried everything ever mentioned with no avail. Its frustrating to say the least.

Which Wifi card do you guys have?

Updated to Windows 8.1 today too and I have an Intel Ultimate N 6300 card. So far so good with no issues.

I haven't had any issues with my Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 and I installed 8.1 yesterday.

I had the same issue... have the Centrino wireless n-2230. Find the "wireless_16.1.5_e64" driver on the intel site. Everything working fine now for me after installing the latest driver from intel. Good luck.

Have you guys gone into Control Panel>Hardware and sound>Device manager>Network adapters> "right click" your wireless adapter and select "update driver software" If there is still no success, another method that will temp work is disable the wireless adapter and then re-enable it.

I have the killer card.

Updated to the latest Killer Wireless Suite v2_1.0.36.1278 on the Killer site.. Made no difference for me. Not sure what else to try.

Well, I'm on the Broadcom Adapter and disabling WMM in the adapter properties fixed everything.

I called MS and they didn't seem to know anything about the problem somehow. Though countless threads are online about the same problem. He said call Dell. I called Dell I was relieved to get a rep fluent in English and that understood my problem. He lead me to updating my Broadcom adapter driver. The Dell one unfortunately was last updated in June on the site (he mentioned a new one should be up by next week). So since the Dell one didn't fix the issue he lead me to Lenovo's website to search for a newer driver. Which we found. In fact there was one updated on Oct 3 for Windows 8.1 and one for Windows 8. I unistalled the driver from device manager and installed the Windows 8.1 driver and so far... It's been working. Then again I only tested it for 5-10 min last night. But when I had my problem the wifi would disconnect every 20-30 sec or within a couple minutes. So this may have resolved it. Dell also claimed they don't fully support Windows 8.1 yet. Not until next year. And if my new driver didn't work they recommended I reinstall Windows 8 (which is NOT happening).

Since updating to Windows 8.1, I am having problems with Wifi (wireless) connections. I can't get them, or they're dropping out. After reading forums I've narrowed it down to the driver that handles the Wifi. Apparently it seems that this driver and its compatibility with Windows 8.1 (or vice versa) is also the cause of the constant blue screen error that I am getting on my laptop (Asus Touch that came installed with Windows 8).
To be in the year 2013 and be combing through tech forums to get onto the Internet is not really acceptable - like I have the patience or time to trawl through driver sites, right-click on this, uninstall that, re-install what, and work through the mine field of third party offers, driver manager installations, copying and pasting driver codes into search boxes, picking 32bit and 64bit options... Would someone at Windows please wake-the-f--- up. Then get your idiot programmers to spend their own type testing sh** apps BEFORE they hit market and stuff up everyone else's life.
The driver in concern appears to be the Atheros AR9845. Apparently (according to forums where people are reporting and trying to solve the same problem) if I enable, disable, reinstall, update, check for updates, or do a dance, or sing to it, it will fix the issue. I've tried several approaches, none of them have worked and before I spend more family time (and away from work time) delving into the minutia of device drivers so that I can send a fricken email, I would again suggest that before we ALL hit the train to Mac, Windows please do some reasonable testing before depressingly releasing software that doesn't work with the items installed on a large of your associated partners' products. I'll just do what I did last night. Use my phone. Unbelievable. -
I have this problem on three completely different laptops running Windows 8/8.1. My M17x R2 has a 6300n and the other two have 6200n's. It used to be a lot more frequent, happening every 45min or so, but now after nearly a year, it happens maybe once a day.
It's something messed up in windows 8 because its happening on three different laptops, running 3 different versions of windows, using 2 different network adapters. -
DELL updated two Network drivers for win 8 and 8.1
