Hi guys. I'm asking on behalf of a friend who wants to replace his 500gb HDD with a 1TB.

Does anyone know if a 12.5mm TOSHIBA HDD2K51Z 1TB drive will fit, or do the M4's only accept 9.5mm HDD's? I can get my hands on a 9.5mm drive for about £75 but the 12.5mm variant which has a 16mb cache I can get cheaper.

The R4 does have 2 bays so there is no need to replace, just add another 500GB drive. 12.5mm ones won't fit.

I don't think the M17x takes 12.5mm drives. I read this quite a few times but I'm not certain. Personally, I would never go for a 1TB internal drive.

    As Widezu says, 12.5mm won't fit :/
