    Simple question.

Need a crossfire cable for my M17x-r1 upgrade with dual 5870m's. Finding that it is easier to get an M18x crossfire cable, wondering if it would work on with the dual 5870m's?

I understand the length of the cable will be a bit different, more or less just curious if the connectors are the same

EDIT: Looking at the pictures, the shape of the cable is quite different, so i guess I just need to know if it is possible to make it work

I have been looking at that cable, and my next question would have been if that would work

Question about that. I noticed that the cable appears to be the exact same as the ones supplied by dell, except the ones supplied by Dell seem to have some tape/protection on them. Did you install this cable as is? Or did you do anything with it before installing it?

    Thanks

sorry for the late reply. I used aluminum foil in a spot above the cpu heatsink that had direct contact and then used electrical tape to help channel the chord through spots where it didn't want to go. Perfect length, great cable.
