Will an r2 screen bezel fit a r3?

Got a wear mark across my screen and I cannot stand looking it anymore. Found an r1-r2 bezel on ebay, looks to me like it would fit but I want to make sure.

If not does anyone know where I can buy one? Ebay only has one other listed for an r3, but it's rather expensive.

Just looking for the screen bezel, not the lcd screen itself.

First of all you should know that the bezel is actually an edge to edge plexy glass which is glued to the rest of the assembly.
It won't be easy replacing it even if you find one.

The M17x R3 screen has a different aspect ratio, 16:9 vs 16:10 and a different design, therefore you can't just swap them.

Thanks for the info. I found a few other places to get one. Watched several videos on how to replace it. I guess some come as a kit with some sort of double sided tape that lines the edges. Was thinking it was glued in there, but seems rather easy to take it out from the videos I've seen. Fingers crossed.

I've done it before as part of replacing the actual LCD panel. You need to heat it in an oven to about 300F to loosen the adhesive, and then you can carefully peal it off. It's definitely not an easy task or something that has a high rate of success.

Getting a new screen might be a better option. Unless the construction of the R3 screen is vastly different to that of the R2 screen (which i don't think it is) what you described will not replace the bezel. It sounds like it's just putting an overlay of somesort on top of the existing bezel.

Bro, there would not be anything to peel off because you can easly damage the whole thing by melting it this way, deformation Etc. :)

The way to do it is with a Heat Gun, same like disassembling an iPad. Just double carefull as the R1/R2/R3/R4 plexi glass is nowhere near as robust, as the iPad front Glass.

The heat gun should help fine, a video won't show how hard it is to remove it. Hopefully everything will go just fine.
