I'm considering ordering the Intel 6300 from here INTEL Centrino® Ultimate-N 6300 Wireless Card, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n, 11/54/450 Mbps, Internal PCIe Half Mini Card : AVADirect Custom Computer Component in order to replace my Killer 1103 which has been nothing but trouble.

Is this a simple replacement job? I haven't had to tinker with the laptop until now, but I've been putting off replacing the wireless card since I got the thing. If someone would be so kind as to point me to some guides, that would be great as well.

    Hi Darkmagshin,

Umm, I understand the Intel Centrino cards are not that expensive, but you have already paid for the Killer N? Have you tried using stock Atheros drivers to see if they solve your problems? I had the Killer N in my M17x R4 since I ordered it last July, and ran it with 0 problems under Windows 7. It was fine until I upgraded to Windows 8, at which time I had to start using the stock Atheros drivers, as the Killer N drivers seem to cause problems (I get random network drops, connection remains, but it just quits working). Some folks here are posting that it is really a problem with the Killer N optimization software, rather than the drivers. Good luck!

It shouldn't Bluetooth for the Killer 1103 is provided by a separate Dell 380 Bluetooth card from what it says in Device Manager.

But I would try and see if you can do anything software wise to sort the issues (I suspect its the killer network manager annoying windows 8) basically needs to be disabled and use the latest drivers from dell and see if its stable then.
