I have the 1.5GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M in my laptop. Should that be good enough to make battlefield and skyrim run well? I know that they haven't released system requirements but I was wondering what everyones opinions were on this.

Well...with that card, I am not sure it will be that much better then the 360/PS3. I mean its not like they are completely useless machines (the consoles I mean). But I would imagine that if you turn down enough of the settings you will be able to run it at 1920x1080/1200...which should make it look better vs the up convert of the 360 or the actualy 720p of the PS3...

bf3 is an fps so consoles cant do better as the keyboard and mouse combo anyways ;p

there was a guy on the forums that had the bf3 alpha on his r3 with a 460 with decent fps on decent settings but unsure of the exact settings or his name

wont be able to do max gfx but it will run decently on normal settings

My comment refered to the graphical abilities of the consoles...not the control scheme.

On a side note...I am so excited for Skyrim I can hardly wait!! My god is gonna be awesome. I have even been playing a little more oblivion after about a year off (probably put in close to 300+ hours in that game between my 360 and my PC's). And I was thinking that they said that Skyrim will be mostly directx 9 with only limited support of a few directx10/11 features so I dont think it will be too hard for any of the m17x family to run that game. Heres hoping at least.

    actualy found a vid of a m11x running bf3

Battlefield 3 Alpha (Fraps) on the Alienware M11x R2 - YouTube

that thing is a fair bit slower as a m17x so if hes able to pull 30 odd fps on lowish settings u should be able to pull a fair bit more on better settings on the 560.

the 560 is able to pull 60+ fps on high settings on bfbc2, that game being mainly a direct port from the console version n lacking a fair bit of optimatisations for proper pc use

bf3 runs on the frostbite 2 engine wich will require a wee bit more but will be better optimised aswell.

i reckon u be able to pull atleast 60 odd fps on mediums settings and 30-40 ish on high settings, although with some tweaking here and there ur gonna be able to improve that a tad more.

regarding skyrim, i never played any of the series so im not to familiar with its engine.

the bf3 beta will be released this month so u be able to try the open beta to test it out for yourself.

Open fantasy world where you can swing swords and throw fireballs at fantasy creatures? What's not to understand? :)

Now, in all fairness, I thought Oblivion sucked, even though I loved the premise (Morrowind and Daggerfall were better in their times). But, it became a great game with mods.

So, my point is that at least the PREMISE of Elder Scrolls games is AWESOME to anyone who enjoys fantasy settings and player choice.
