So I was looking at dxdiag and my display mode is in 32bit even though I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. I've been having problems with blackscreen could this be the reason? How can I fix it?

Alot of programs are still run in 32bit. However your computer for major purposes are running at 64bit, so don't worry too much about it.
Tip: Put your computer specs in your signature. That way people on the forums can help you out without having to ask for your system specs.
Try using mine as an example, except only use one line.
Also put in which driver your using. -
I have windows 7 pro 64bit as well, my DXDIAG shows as well display mode: 1600*900 (32bit).
in that line, the 32bit shows you the colors, nothing to do with the 64 or 32bit coding. Sorry pal not the source of your black screen issue.

32 bit color has nothing to do with the OS. 32 bit color means true life like color. And the 64 bits on the OS means you have the memory and registers using words of a lenght of 64 bits (somebody ask for more memory available)
Black screen is a weird thing. But usually video drivers has a lot to do with graphic issues. -
There is a such thing as 48bit/64bit color images but its all done in the background. It would be nice if they upped the color depth for PCs and there were displays to take advantage.

... But that's just what I think, I don't know for sure.

When you adjust the levels you can get a lot more detail out of dark areas. It would definately look better but not a huge difference. Not like those of us that started off when the computer was 4 or 16 colors! Even the difference between 256 and 32k is huge.

!! That was fun
