Howdy folks. I just took the plunge and upgraded to Windows 10 on my M17-R4. I did a complete format and reinstall to a new HGST 1TB drive, and installed the absolute latest drivers I could locate for all HW.

My problem is the mouse hangs up for 1-2 seconds when launching applications or when trying to navigate context boxes.

The lag vanishes entirely if I have anything on the screen keeping the Geforce 780M GPU from idling. My theory is the lag is caused by the IGP switching over to the GPU. Not sure why this is a problem now and wasn't before. I've always run the GPU in adaptive power mode so it is usually not-clocked.

I can confirm with GPU-Z that with nothing running, the discrete video card is only powered up for about 1 second every 5 seconds. It is cycling between normal frequencies and dashes. I believe my Win8 install did this too and I prefer to keep the discrete GPU unpowered for nice cool temps.

I'd love some help on how to reduce the glitching without telling the discrete GPU to be on all of the time. Or, perhaps a different thought on what I might try, or why it never happened in Win 8.1.

    Thanks!
